Artistic entertainment and sophisticated funThree days and three locations will once again host the wonderful musical genre called jazz. This year the celebration takes place for the second time, and organizers are offering a rich programme that will surely please the lovers of quality music. The event takes place between the 23rd and 25th of September in the IXth district of the capital and it comprises "The Jubilee of Hungarian Jazz", a series of concerts launched by the Hungarian Jazz Federation several years ago. There will be more artists and concerts than last year and the audience (hopefully even larger in number this time) will be entertained by international jazz greats, teaming up with leading Hungarian musicians to form singular line-ups giving unique performances. Young, talented soloists seeking new ways of musical expression will also have a chance to get more popularity among jazz fans. Beside the three main locations - Közraktár-Tent, Kultiplex Cinema and the open-air stage on Ráday Street - there will be a large number and a wide variety of live performers as well as DJs (playing old jazz recordings on vinyl discs) at several cafés nearby. The festival has had a great success last year and the standard now is high as ever: the productions will be level with the ones of the first edition both artistically and from technical point of view. The goals have remained unchanged: to showcase the widest possible range of colours in the jazz life of Hungary to eager jazz fans and newbies alike, to provide high quality entertainment, to recruit new devotees to high culture in general and this wonderful musical style in particular.
