The Budapest Marathon 2007 competitions will be accompanied by a family day, with several programmes that await everyone interested in a full day event on Felvonulas Square - about 150000 people are expected to be a part of these. About 3000 runners (half of which from abroad) will take part in the marathon, their number will probably be twice as big for the shorter distances. Most runners, beside the local ones, usually come from Great Britain, Germany and France (but several dozens of countries have been represented over the years) - to them it is a special treat that the route leads through the most beautiful parts of the city, including famous historical and architectural sights as well as tourist attractions such as Heroes' Square, Andrassy Boulevard, the House of Parliament, the Chain Bridge, Margaret Island, etc.

Beside the above event, this autumn two more important races will be held in Budapest: the 22nd Nike International Half-Marathon (on the 2nd of September) and the 12th CocaCola Women's Running Race (on the 14th of October).
