Budapest Halloween Festival 2012 |
|
All Saints' Day meets a new traditionOrganized by the SoS WildLife Wild Animal Protection Association the Budapest Halloween Festival will be held in the capital for the third time, on Vörösmarty Square on the 31th of October 2012 – the goal is to bring this beautiful Celtic and Anglo-Saxon tradition into the country and give it a home here as well. In Hungary November the 1st is All Saints' Day, a holiday when people meet to honor the memory of family members and friends who have passed away. According to the custom they visit grave sites in cemeteries and light candles as a sign of remembrance and respect. All incomes generated by the event will be spent by the association on protecting animals, and on creating the first Hungarian Animal Police type of help, that could be located at the wild animals' hospital.
