Short History of Budapest Hotels |
|
The famous Spa City Budapest, the capital of Hungary well-known of its wonderful panorama could not satisfy the demand and the rush of tourists over a longer time because of the lack of hotelbeds. Most of the hotels in Budapest were ruined during WW2, and the empty space could be filled only by paying-guest services from the 1960-es on. Private rooms were sold to compensate the lack of hotelbeds providing about the half of the total accomodation capacity of Budapest together with the growing number of small private pensions. The building of modern hotels in Budapest apart from a few exceptions began only by the end of the 1970s.
