Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary, the centre of the eastern region, seat of Hajdu-Bihar County. It is also a cultural centre of its region, with sights and events drawing many visitors.
The Deri Museum is situated in downtown Debrecen, in a Neo-Baroque style building. The ground floor hosts two exhibitions, one about the fowls of the region, and one about the world of minerals. On the first floor, visitors can glimpse into historic times, and learn about the everyday life of local folks. The northern wing presents a pharmacy museum. The second floor includes the unique collection of Frigyes Deri, with many antique and eastern items.
