Diosgyor Castle - Miskolc-Diosgyor |

Diosgyor is a long-time historical settlement in Hungary, located in the northeastern region, at the feet of the Buk Mountain. Today, it is part of the city of Miskolc, and can be accessed by a tramline from downtown.
At the place of the Diosgyor Castle, a fort stood in the 12th century, which was then totally destroyed. Today's castle was built in Gothic style during the 15-16th centuries, and served as an engagement gift for queens. The 2500sqm floor space castle is partially ruined, but the four towers, the basement areas, and some of the ground floor buildings still stand. The castle and its museum can be visited every day, from 9am until 6pm from the beginning of May until the end of September, and from 10am until 4pm during the rest of the year.
