Eger is a town in Northern Hungary, with a rich history. It is also a cultural and church centre. Major sights include the fort, the minaret, the basilica, Dobo Square, the Fazola Gate, the gallery, the Racz Church, and the Archbishop's Palace.
The Roman Catholic Archbishop's Palace is located in downtown Eger, in Szechenyi Street. The Baroque palace was built in the 18th century. The main gate is a peculiar iron masterpiece, made by the Fazola family. The palace is not open to the public, but one section hosts a museum with an exhibition on local bishops and archbishops of the last two and a half centuries.
