The township of Jak is located at a 10-km distance from Szombathely in western Hungary. It is named after the family that once owned the majority of lands here.
The St. Georg Church, Szent Gyorgy templom is a well-known building of Romanesque Art in Hungary. It was dedicated in 1256. The façade above the front door includes the statue of Christ and ten of the twelve original apostles, while the statue of two stand on the façade of the towers. The interior is sectioned into three aisles, ornamented with frescos and Gothic statues. The church can be visited at any time during the tourist season, and by appointment during the winter (from the beginning of November until the end of March).
