||||||||||||||||
Martonvasar is located west of Budapest, in between the Hungarian capital and the Velencei Lake. The town was a major settlement as early as the 11th century, as it lay along the Buda-Fehervar trade route. The Turkish invasion devastated the settlement by the middle of the 16th century, which the Brunszvik Family rebuilt and re-settled in the 1770s. They also built a Baroque castle and a Roman Catholic Church.
Local sights include the Brunszvik Castle with its 70 hectares English park, the Beethoven Museum, and the Cymbal frescos and Baroque statues in the church building. ![]() ![]() Brunszvik Castle - Martonvasar - nearest hotels
