Savaria Museum - Szombathely

The Savaria Museum is situated in Szombathely, in the western part of Hungary. The core of its collection consists of items and coins belonging to the local archeological association. The present location of the museum is a newly built cultural center, which hosts musical performances and fine art events as well.
The permanent exhibition on the first floor points out the relationship between the local resident and his surroundings throughout history. The lapidarium in the basement contains Roman antiquities, statues and mosaics from Savaria. Temporary exhibitions are also available. The museum is open all year around, every day except for Mondays.
