The village of Zalaszentgrot is located by the Zala river, in the north-eastern part of Zala county in western Hungary. Archeological findings seem to indicate that the settlement of Maestrina in the Roman Empire was located in this area. Local sights include the Ruin Tower, the Stone Bridge, a monument in remembrance of all who died during revolutions, the thermal spa and the castle.
